A landscape of longing - that is what the blue land has always been for the architect and painter Horst Höfler.

His style is strongly influenced by Japanese color woodcuts.

Simplification of natural forms, unusual perspectives, expressive, often psychedelic colors and black contours characterize his pictures.

Gnarled branches often obscure the view of bizarre and imposing mountain, sky and water scenarios like a kind of grid.
